AcousticMirror
AR lens for Snap Spectacles that shows where your speakers' sound bounces off the room

AcousticMirror is an AR lens for Snap Spectacles that does the studio mirror trick on your own. It works out where each speaker's sound reflects off the walls and desk on its way to your ears, shows the delay and the frequency it cancels, and guides you to place absorber panels.
Sound from a studio monitor reaches your ears twice: straight, and after bouncing off a side wall or the desk. The late copy cancels some frequencies and the mix sounds hollow. Engineers find the bounce point by sliding a mirror along the wall, which needs a second person.
On Spectacles your head is the listening position, so the lens takes the place of that second person. The reflection points are recomputed every frame from where your head is, so the rings move with you as you walk.
What it does
- Guides speaker placement to a 60° listening triangle
- An image-source solver finds the left wall, right wall and desk reflection for each speaker, every frame
- Each point shows its delay in milliseconds and the first frequency it cancels
- Absorber panels snap onto the points, and the audio moves from hollow to clean as you treat the room
- A reflection is drawn only if it lands on a real surface, never in mid-air
